2.1 Data you provide

  • Identity & contact: name, email, phone/WhatsApp, country (if needed for billing).

  • Booking details: unit, dates, adults/children counts, optional ferry arrival/departure time.

  • Payment method and confirmation meta (no full card numbers stored by us).

  • Messages you send us (pre-arrival questions, change requests).

2.2 Data collected automatically

  • Essential cookies for session, language, and booking flow.

  • Basic technical data (browser, device, IP region) to operate and secure the site.

  • We do not currently run third-party analytics. If we enable analytics later, this Policy will be updated.

2.3 Data we do not collect

  • Sensitive categories (health, religion, etc.), except if you voluntarily share special needs.

  • Full payment card details (handled by PayPal).


3) How We Use Data

  • Process, confirm, and manage reservations.

  • Communicate about your stay and coordinate optional ferry timing.

  • Verify and reconcile payments (PayPal / BAC).

  • Operate and secure our website and booking system.

  • Keep accounting/tax records as required by law.

  • Send marketing emails only if you opt-in (unsubscribe anytime).

We do not sell your data.


4) Legal Basis (Honduras + international guests)

  • Contract performance: to take, manage, and fulfill bookings.

  • Consent: optional ferry information; marketing emails.

5) Payments

  • PayPal. Payment is processed by PayPal; your data is handled under PayPal’s own privacy policy. We receive transaction confirmation data (payer, amount, status).

  • Bank Transfer (BAC). You pay via your bank to our BAC account. We receive payer name, amount, date, and reference for verification.

  • We do not store or process full card details on our servers.


6) Data Storage, Location & Security

  • Hosting: Hostinger (secure data centers, SSL/TLS).

  • Platform: WordPress + WP Hotelier (role-based admin access, strong passwords, limited accounts).

  • Backups: Weekly.

  • Safeguards: Encryption in transit (HTTPS), principle of least privilege, routine patching, and security plugins.

  • Cross-border transfers: Because we host internationally and serve global travelers, data may be processed outside Honduras. We apply reasonable safeguards (encrypted transport, contractual commitments with providers, restricted access) to protect your data to a standard consistent with international norms.


7) Sharing & Disclosure

We share data only when necessary to operate your booking:

  • Processors / service providers: Hostinger (hosting), WP Hotelier (booking software), PayPal (payments).

  • Ferry assistance (optional): If you request help, we may share the minimum necessary details with ferry operators.

  • Airbnb calendar sync: We export availability only via iCal. We do not share guest personal data with Airbnb through iCal.

  • Legal: We may disclose data if required by law or to protect our rights, property, guests, or staff.


8) Cookies & Similar Technologies

  • Essential cookies (required): maintain sessions, language preference, and booking flows.

  • Preference cookies: remember site settings (e.g., preferred language).

  • Opt-out: You can block cookies via your browser; essential functions (e.g., booking) may not work properly if disabled.

  • Future analytics: If we add analytics/marketing cookies, we will update this Policy and present consent controls.


9) Children & Families

  • Our services are for adult travelers (18+) and families traveling with a responsible adult.

  • We may process limited information about children (age brackets only) solely to apply correct pricing/occupancy and to coordinate stays.

  • We do not market to or profile minors. Any children’s data must be provided by a responsible adult.


10) Data Retention

  • Reservations & communications: kept up to 24 months after checkout to manage operations and guest inquiries.

  • Accounting/tax records: retained longer if required by applicable law.

  • Disputes/claims: we may retain data as needed to resolve or defend claims.

  • When retention ends, we delete or anonymize data securely. You can request deletion earlier (see “Your Rights”).


11) Your Rights (incl. Habeas Data–style rights)

Consistent with Honduran constitutional guarantees of privacy and informational self-determination, and general international standards, you may:

  • Access the data we hold about you.

  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.

  • Delete your data (subject to legal/contractual retention).

  • Object to or restrict certain processing.

  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent (e.g., marketing).

  • Request a copy (data portability) of key information you provided.
