Política de Cancelación

Applies to: All direct bookings made through iglooutila.com or manually confirmed via PayPal or Bank Transfer (BAC).


1 General Conditions

All bookings are subject to this Cancellation Policy, which forms part of Igloo Island Domes’ Terms & Conditions.
Submitting a reservation constitutes acceptance of these terms.


2. Free Cancellation Window

  • Guests may cancel for a full refund within 24 hours of booking, regardless of their scheduled check-in date.

  • After this 24-hour period:

    • If the check-in date is seven (7) or more days away, the guest may still cancel for a full refund minus transaction or transfer fees.

    • If the check-in date is less than seven (7) days away, the booking becomes non-refundable (see Section 3).


3. Cancellations Less Than 7 Days Before Check-In

  • Once the 24-hour grace period has expired, all bookings with check-in dates within the next seven (7) days are non-refundable.

  • Guests who cancel in this period are not entitled to a refund, except in rare, documented cases (medical emergencies, ferry cancellations, or severe weather).

  • At management’s discretion, guests may be offered either:

    • A date change without fees (subject to availability), or

    • A partial credit toward a future stay.


4 Modifications to Booking Dates or Units

  • ≥ 7 days before check-in: Date or unit changes allowed, no penalty (subject to availability).

  • < 7 days before check-in: Changes handled case-by-case; management may offer new dates if available.


5 Payment Method and Refunds

  • PayPal: Refunds issued to the same PayPal account. Processing times depend on PayPal policies.

  • Bank Transfer (BAC): Refunds may be returned to the original account or another Honduran account upon guest request. Transfer fees are borne by the guest.

  • Refunds are always processed in USD, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • Administration reserves up to 7 business days to process refunds after approval.


6 No-Shows & Early Departures

  • No-show: No refund; booking treated as cancelled after the first night without notice.

  • Early departure: No refund for unused nights once checked in.


7 Force Majeure & External Disruptions

Igloo Island Domes is not responsible for cancellations or delays caused by:

  • Ferry or air transport disruptions,

  • Storms, rain, lightning, or other weather events,

  • Power outages, water interruptions, or other infrastructure failures, or

  • Government actions, strikes, or public emergencies.

At its discretion, management may offer to reschedule the stay without penalty.


8 Cancellation by Property Owner

If Igloo Island Domes must cancel a reservation due to unforeseen circumstances (maintenance, safety, overbooking), guests will receive a full refund or may select alternative dates. This refund constitutes the full extent of liability.


9 Procedure to Cancel or Modify

Guests may:

  1. Cancel directly via the link in their confirmation email, or

  2. Email igloodomesutila@gmail.com with the booking ID and reason for cancellation.

Once received, our team will confirm receipt and process according to the above rules.


10 BAC Transfer Deadline (Non-Payment)

Bank Transfer (BAC) payments must be completed within 4 hours of booking. If proof of payment is not received within that window, the reservation is automatically cancelled to free inventory for other guests. No penalty applies.


11 Dispute Resolution

Any refund or credit dispute will be handled under Honduran law through the Courts of La Ceiba, Atlántida, with reasonable good-faith efforts to settle matters amicably before formal action.
